We are pleased to feature these rock solid jammers from the NJ area. These guys have been working their way up through the jamband circuit, playing venues like Gathering of the Vibes, Campcreek and Phanfest and touring around the Northeast's more reputable venues. This five piece band blends great songwriting with powerful grooves that will make you move. This year's Forestjam Spotlight for up and coming artist.
"The quintet posseses everything the jam scene lacks; soulful vocals, meaningful lyrics, accesible melodies and social conscience."
Bob Makin-Courier News
"They mix a myriad of musical elements in their blend-jazz,funk, bluegrass, rock and country. SC's debut album, hooked and shattered, perfectly captures it's melodic, groove based music. The music is crisp and clean without superfluous fills-everything fits just right." Mick Skidmore,RELIX magazine |

For over thirty years, on pedal steel and banjo, Gordon Stone has been writing his genre crossing music, recording five studio albums of his own material. Gordon was named "Best Instrumentalist" two years in a row and won an emmy for Jay Craven's VPT series "Windy Acres" soundtrack in 2005. He has recorded and performed with some of the country's most influential musicians in the bluegrass and jam world- Tony Trischka, Vassar Clemmens, Sam Bush, Peter Rowan, Phish, MIke Gordon, moe., Strangefolk, Max Creek to name only a few!
The music that comes from Gordon Stone's imagination is simply uplifting. This Vermont based world travelling trio combines bluegrass and jazz. with Latin, World Beat and funk in tunes ranging from laid back grooves to musical excursions.
With Gordon on pedal steel and banjo, backed by drums and bass, you'll hear everything from mesmerizing banjo exotica to kick up your boots barndance numbers to genre bending audio alchemy, with each new piece more sweet than the last.
The soulful sounds of Fungus Amungus have been spreading like wildfire throughout the jam/funk scene in the Northeast. These seven funky brothers hail from Providence,RI where they have been dropping the funk since 2002. From performing at festivals such as CampCreek and Wormtown's Garden of Eden to sharing the stage with the likes of Max Creek,The Spin Doctors, the Violent Femmes and the Bombsquad, Fungus Amungus has been setting the pace for live music in southern New England. For two consecutive years Fungus Amungus was named "Best Jam Band in New England" by the Providence Phoenix.
These guys are rockstars disguised as bluegrassers. Feels like bluegrass, sounds like Old Time and moves you like Rock n Roll...they call it "Zoograss"!
"Acoustic has never sounded so electric! At first Lowell 'bluegrass band' HDATZ looks like a bluegrass band....the fast paced, finger picking tunes start out sounding like bluegrass...but listen a wee bit longer and it is anything but."

Scalawag

"For three months the band holed up in a south Manchester house and developed what became the Scalawag sound. They wanted to incorporate the rythyms of Sun records recordings, the musical simplicity of Woody Guthrie, the lyrical storytelling of an early Springsteen, the loose grooves of the Rolling Stones and the musicianship of the Band. When they emerged Scalawag was able to create a sound that was all of these yet unique unto itself."
