Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative

PAREI

In response to concern about an increasingly energy constrained world, PAREI, a non-profit membership organization, was formed in 2004. It's mission is to encourage enrgy conservation, energy efficiency practices and to promote the use of renewable energy practices in the Plymouth region through education, community building and an increased accessibility to renewable energy.

Northeast Wilderness Trust

The Northeast Wilderness Trust is the only regional land trust focused exclusively on restoring and protecting wilderness. The Northeast Wilderness trust works with partners to restore and preserve forever wild landscapes through conservation easements, land acquisitions, donations and other preservation methods.

NH Electric

Co-operative

  

NewHampshire Electric Cooperative is a non profit electric distribution company that's owned by the 80,000 members it serves. As part of it's efforts to promote greater social amd environmental responsibility, the Co-op offers rebates of up to 5,000 dollars to members who install qualified solar hot water, solar photovoltaic or small wind turbine systems in Co-op service territory. The Co-op also offers free consultaion services for members during the siting and construction of their renewable energy systems.

In 2008, the Co-op is providing 75 free energy audits to members who use fossil fuels to heat, plus up to 1,000 off the cost of reccomended energy efficiency improvements. The Co-op is New England's largest seller of Marathon Water Heaters, the most energy efficient water heater available.
